Ingredients:
1 cup vermicelli (semolina noodles)
4 cups full cream milk
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
2 tablespoons chopped nuts (cashews, almonds, pistachios)
2 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter)
Raisins for garnish
A pinch of saffron strands (optional)

Recipe:

Heat ghee in a pan and add vermicelli. Roast on medium heat until golden brown.
In a separate pan, bring milk to a boil. Add the roasted vermicelli and simmer on low heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Once the vermicelli is cooked and the milk has thickened, add sugar and cardamom powder. Mix well until the sugar is dissolved.
Add chopped nuts and saffron strands, if using. Simmer for another 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
Garnish with raisins and serve warm or chilled.
