Rajasthani Dal Dhokli Recipe How To Make Dal Dhokli Quick And Easy Way

– Welcome to Pramila’s Cook Book, where I share my delicious and authentic recipes from India.
– Today, I am going to show you how to make a popular Rajasthani dish called Dal Dhokli in a quick and easy way.

Ingredients:
– 1 cup whole wheat flour
– 1 cup yellow moong dal (split yellow mung beans)
– 1 large tomato, chopped
– 1 small onion, finely chopped
– 2-3 cloves of garlic, minced
– 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
– 1-2 green chilies, chopped
– 1 tsp mustard seeds
– 1 tsp cumin seeds
– 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
– 1/2 tsp red chili powder
– 1/2 tsp coriander powder
– 1/2 tsp garam masala
– 2-3 tbsp oil
– Salt to taste
– Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish
– Lemon wedges for serving

Recipe:
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, a pinch of salt, and enough water to make a stiff dough. Knead the dough for a few minutes, then cover it and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
2. In a pressure cooker, add the moong dal, chopped tomato, onion, garlic, ginger, green chilies, turmeric powder, and salt. Add 3-4 cups of water and pressure cook for 3-4 whistles, or until the dal is cooked.
3. Once the pressure is released, open the cooker and add more water if needed to adjust the consistency of the dal.
4. Now, divide the dough into small lemon-sized balls and roll them into thin, round rotis.
5. Cut the rotis into small diamond-shaped pieces and add them to the dal.
6. In a small pan, heat the oil and add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Once they start to splutter, add the red chili powder and coriander powder. Pour this tempering over the dal dhokli.
7. Stir in the garam masala and let the dal dhokli simmer for 5-10 minutes.
8. Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves and serve hot with lemon wedges.

I hope you enjoy making and eating this comforting and flavorful Rajasthani Dal Dhokli! Stay tuned for more delicious recipes from Pramila’s Cook Book.
