Milk – 2 ½ cup
Rava – 6 tbsp
Sugar – 6 tbsp
Salt – ⅛ tsp or 2 pinches
Oil / butter – to grease pudding tin
Red food colour – 2 drops / one small pinch (optional)
Vermicelli – to coat the snack
Plain flour – to coat vermicelli and the snack for frying
Oil – to fry
Egg – 1
Hi everyone, today I am here with a very sweet and easy fried snack recipe..
To make this recipe, add 2 ½ cups of milk in a saucepan and add 6 tablespoons of Rava and 6 tablespoons of sugar in it and turn on the heat and keep stirring continuously until it starts to turn into a thick and evenly consistent paste.
You can also add two drops of red food colour for a beautiful pink colour to the snack and you may also add vanilla essence or cardamom powder for flavour.
If you do not have measuring cups to measure the milk, you may use normal drinking glasses as well.
Before preparing the pudding mixture, prepare the pudding tin ready by greasing the inside of it with some butter or oil and set aside to pour in the prepared milk and Rava mixture when it’s done.
Cook the milk and rava mixture on a medium to low flame until it starts to form bubbles on the sides and large bubbles in the centre.
Once the mixture turns thick and creamy, pour it into the prepared pudding tin while it’s still hot.
Do not wait for the mixture to cool down while it’s in the saucepan..
Pour the mixture while it’s hot in the pudding tin and let it cool down in the tin.
While it cools down, let’s prepare some vermicelli to coat and fry the snack.
First, break vermicelli into small pieces and transfer it into a bowl, and into the bowl, add boiling hot water and wait until the vermicelli gets really soft.. Do not leave it in hot water for too long, else it will turn soggy.
Once the vermicelli turns soft, drain out the excess water and squeeze out the excess water and spread it on onto a plate and sprinkle some plain flour on the vermicelli in batches so that all the extra moisture gets absorbed by the plain flour. .

To fry the snacks, take each one of the square pieces, dip it in the plain flour to coat the piece evenly, next dip it in the beaten egg and coat it all with the boiled vermicelli..
Once ready, deep fry these in oil until the vermicelli turns golden on all the sides.
Once they are golden and crisp from the outside, take it out from the oil and serve!! This snack is cottony soft on the inside and really crisp on the outside.. Enjoy!!
